Acharya Mentoring is an experienced NMH provider delivering high-quality, student-centred support across a wide range of needs. We work with undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students, offering consistent, flexible support that adapts to academic demands, placements, and changing wellbeing needs.

Our team includes specialist mentors, support workers, and tutors with extensive professional experience across mental health, autism, ADHD, and specific learning differences. Many of our staff also bring lived experience of disability or neurodiversity, alongside formal training and sector expertise. This ensures support is authentic, empathetic, and highly effective—an approach frequently highlighted as a strength by both students and assessors.

Students are carefully matched with a support worker or mentor based on need, subject area, working style, and personal preference. We support students on campus, remotely, and around complex timetables, including those on placement-heavy courses or managing fluctuating mental health. Interim support can be arranged quickly where continuity is disrupted.

We place strong emphasis on collaborative goal-setting, reflective practice, and building students’ confidence, independence, and self-advocacy skills. Our mentors and support workers are known for being calm, reliable, and highly attuned to individual needs, particularly where students present with multiple or intersecting difficulties.

Our admin systems reduce stress and cognitive load for students, making it easy to manage sessions, track hours, and complete required paperwork. We work closely with students, funders, and assessors to ensure support is delivered efficiently, transparently, and in line with DSA expectations.

Feedback from students frequently highlights:

• Feeling genuinely understood and not “pathologised”

• Increased confidence, organisation, and academic engagement

• Appreciation of mentors who “get it” through lived experience

• Consistency and flexibility, particularly during periods of high stress

Assessors regularly note:

• Strong quality of reporting and communication

• Appropriate matching of support to complex needs

• Professional, responsive service delivery

• Clear understanding of NMH roles and boundaries

We pride ourselves on being responsive, reflective, and values-driven, keeping the student at the centre of everything we do while maintaining high professional and ethical standards.
