Access your Ability (AyA) is a well-established NMH provider with a dedicated team of around 30 specialist tutors and mentors. Since 2018, we have delivered consistent, long-term support, with some students working with the same person throughout their entire undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Our strong roots in Worcester, Hereford, Cheltenham, and Gloucester mean we have extensive experience supporting students at the University of Worcester, University of Gloucestershire, Heart of Worcestershire College, Hereford College of Arts, and several Birmingham-based universities. Many of our staff live locally, have strong community knowledge, and have studied or worked at these institutions themselves, bringing valuable insight to their sessions.

We are highly experienced in supporting students on placement-based courses such as nursing, where flexibility is essential, and we understand the additional challenges placements can bring. We also have a strong track record in supporting distance learners and those with large elements of online learning, helping them maintain motivation and develop effective study routines around their course demands.

Each student is carefully matched with a support worker whose skills, subject knowledge, and approach align with their needs and preferences. Many staff have profiles and photos on our website, helping students feel comfortable when meeting their support worker for the first time. As a small, connected team, we know each member’s strengths well and can arrange interim support quickly when needed. Our staff bring experience across a wide range of needs, including ASC, ADHD, dyslexia, mental health conditions, and more complex circumstances, with many also having lived experience of disability or neurodiversity.

We use the Touch Point system to make support easy to manage, enabling students to book sessions, track hours, access notes, receive reminders, and sign timesheets in one place. Our team is committed to professional development, works collaboratively with students to set goals and strategies, and adapts easily to changing needs. We pride ourselves on being responsive, flexible, and empowering, always keeping the student at the centre of the process.
